o trip to Miami would be complete without a night out at legendary nightclub
Story. Located at 136 Collins Avenue in the heart of the vibrent SoFi (South of Fifth
Street) neighbourhood Story is one of South Beach’s hottest night clubs.
Before the revitalization of SoFi, the space now occupied by Story was an open air
nightclub that went by various names including Opium Garden, Prive and Amnesia
depending on which year you were there. As the new residential hi-rises moved in,
noise ordinances changedand the clubwas forced to put a roof on the building back
in 2011 in order to stay open.
With the new roof in place, the club re-opened under its original name Amnesia: how-
ever its stay was short lived. Despite its tremendous sound system and massive video
screen the club was unable to draw a crowd large enough to cover the huge
expense of the construction.
The club was then taken over by current owner David Grutman, mastermind of LIV
night club which resides in the Fontainebleau hotel further up the beach. The interior
of Amnesia was gutted and a multi-million dollar renovation completed and in
December of 2012 the club re-opened under its current name “Story”.
Story is a unique destination for partiers looking for an unparalleled, high energy night-
life experience. The 27,000 square foot space is equippedwith a state-of-the art Infinite
Hybrid Sound System and its concert style lighting and visuals stand bigger and bolder
than the competition. Its stylish design and sophisticated feel compliment a premium
bottle service experience, offering over 60 exclusive VIP tables & five full-service bars.
Story’s in-house production & design team transforms the venue on a nightly basis into
an extravagant circus-style setting where nothing’s shocking.
